  • Eurofighter final assembly, system tests,
  • flight testing,
  • in-service support for aircraft flown by the German Air Force.
  • The Dornier Aircraft Service Centre (DFW), which is responsible for servicing the Breguet Atlantic and NATO's E-3A AWACS aircraft and the P-3 Orion, is also based at this site.

Manching is equipping the centre fuselage sections for all 620 Eurofighters ordered by the four partner nations. A further 18 aircraft have been ordered by Austria. Final assembly of the 180 Eurofighters destined for the German Luftwaffe began in December 2000. The first production Eurofighter for Germany took off on its maiden flight in February 2003. The military support programmes for the Luftwaffe are also concentrated at the Manching plant. Together with the Dornier Aircraft Service Centre (DFW), depot maintenance work and overhaul and upgrade programmes are carried out here on the E-3A AWACS mission aircraft operated by NATO and on the Breguet Atlantic maritime reconnaissance aircraft and P-3 Orion operated by the German Navy. Manching is also responsible for the maintenance and combat efficiency improvement of military high-performance aircraft (Tornado and F-4 Phantom) and transport aircraft (C-160 Transall).
