Large-scale order for Eurocopter - eleven EC 135 for the ÖAMTCMarignane, 25 September 2000 Eurocopter's EC 135 continues its market success, as proven by the Austrian Automobile Association's (ÖAMTC) purchase of eleven light-twin helicopters for air rescue purposes, a contract worth 34 million Euros. The EC 135 was selected as winner against strong competition from Europe and the US. EADS points out that the TRIGAT programme has achieved all relevant development goals and is completely under control. Industry demonstrated utmost flexibility, including innovative financing schema to move Trigat from a successful development phase into industrial production, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) said others partners to the programme are Germany, France and Belgium. The development of this programme is nearing completion and is fully under control. The missile technical evolutions were aimed at improving the system's consistency in line with the Armed Forces requirements. It is to be noted that the geostrategic situation has changed in Europe and abroad and that the system was adapted consequently.
