C-295 MPA/ASW. The Dependable Choice For Maritime Patrol And Antisubmarine Warfare Applications

EADS CASA is showing the C-295 MPA Demonstrator at Paris Air Show 2001.
CASA C-295 MPA is the result of the huge effort that CASA has invested in developing and building its Maritime Patrol System for the twenty-first century.
CASA started delivering Maritime Patrol aircraft in the early 80's mainly based on CASA C-212 and now more than 40 aircraft are successfully flying. In 1994, two CN-235 MPA were delivered to the Irish Air Corps and has been flying 2000 FH per year ever since. This provides the best evidence of the success of the product and confirms the suitability of the system even for the extreme conditions of the North Atlantic Ocean.
Based on the experience gathered during those years, CASA decided to launch, with its own funds, the development of the Fully Integrated Tactical System (F.l.T.S.) that now represents the EADS CASA proposal in the field of Maritime Patrol and Antisubmarine Warfare systems. This is the tactical system that has been selected and contracted by the Spanish Air Force for the modernization of its P-3 Orion fleet. The advanced development and mature status of the system will allow EADS CASA to deliver to the SAF the first modernized P-3 aircraft during the year 2003. Currently, this system is short-listed by the Turkish Navy and the Turkish Coast Guard for the MELTEM Program to be installed in the CASA CN-235.
Installed in the CN-235-300, the system has been also considered by all three contenders in the Deep Water Program for the US Coast Guard as the fixed-wing MPA aircraft as part of their proposals.
CASA C-295 ASW system has been selected by the UAE Naval Forces for their Shaheen I program.
