The Eurofighter Typhoon developed by EADS, BAE Systems and Alenia Aeronautica is the world’s most advanced swingrole combat aircraft. It has been produced for four partner countries: the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain. Agile and highly manoeuvrable, the twin-engine Eurofighter Typhoon is designed to operate from short runways to enable flexible operations. The aircraft is equipped with an advanced multi-mode radar and an extensive range of sensors and electronic countermeasures. The largest customer is the Royal Air Force (RAF) with 232 aircraft on order. The RAF received its first Eurofighter Typhoon on 18th of December 2003.

The four partner nations benefit from the industrial and technological achievements of the Typhoon programme. Eurofighter Typhoon also supports a European industrial base of more than 400 companies (many of which are based in the UK).

The current Eurofighter Typhoon order book is for 638 aircraft for the four partner nations United Kingdom: 232; Germany: 180; Italy: 121; Spain: 87, including 15 export orders from Austria.
