Eurocopter, a wholly owned subsidiary of EADS, is the largest manufacturer and exporter of helicopters in the world. Its civilian products range from the EC120 light single-engine helicopter to the medium/heavy weight EC225 with a take-off weight of up to 11 tonnes. Military helicopters include the Tiger, NH90, Panther and EC725. Eurocopter holds around 70% of the UK civil market and is particularly successful in the law enforcement and emergency medical services fields. In the UK, the company also has a stronghold in the offshore oil and gas industry.
