Paradigm

Le projet ASTRO+, retenu par la Commission européenne dans le cadre de l’Action Préparatoire en matière de recherche sur la sécurité (Preparatory Action for Security Research, PASR), réunit 22 partenaires (acteurs publics, industriels, universités, agences, think tanks) de 9 pays européens. Coordonné par EADS Astrium, ASTRO+ a pour objectif de démontrer l’utilité des technologies spatiales et des capacités offertes par les systèmes satellitaires actuels sous l’angle de la sécurité de l’Europe. L’exercice de février 2006, qui s’est déroulé en Pologne, a permis de mettre en évidence l’intérêt, pour les opérationnels sur le terrain, d’un système facilitant l’accès à l’information d’origine spatiale avec des outils performants et assurant la coordination des acteurs en vue d’une meilleure efficacité globale du dispositif de gestion de crise. EADS Astrium maîtrise les technologies indispensables à l’efficacité des dispositifs de sécurité qui seront mis en place à l’échelon européen. L'entreprise a développé des solutions intégrées de télécommunications, d’observation et de navigation par satellite aptes à répondre aux besoins des opérationnels sur le terrain. Ces solutions intègrent les dimensions système (satellites et moyen sols) et services (cartographie et télécommunications). Le projet ASTRO+ est une première étape pour valider la contribution essentielle du segment spatial aux systèmes concourant à la sécurité du citoyen et devrait être suivi d’un programme de recherche et technologie, susceptible de mobiliser des synergies avec d’autres projets commerciaux, de défense et de R&T, et destiné à démultiplier les échanges entre la recherche et l’industrie spatiale en vue d’applications multidisciplinaires.
