EADS TEST & SERVICES, Test Partner for the A380

Airbus has selected EADS TEST & SERVICES as the Prime Contractor for the Computer- Aided Ground Test System for the new, very large capacity, A380 aircraft. This Test System will be used for Ground Testing during the final assembly phase of the A380 aircraft in the new Airbus plant in Toulouse, France.
EADS TEST & SERVICES will perform all the Project Management tasks including the design of the system architecture, the technical specifications, validation and integration of the system elements and the final validation of the system with the aircraft.
The purpose of the Computer-Aided Ground Test System, named E.S.A.O. (Essais au Sol Assistés par Ordinateur) is to fully automate the Ground Testing of the aircraft on the Airbus Production Line.
E.S.A.O. is a complete system used to perform all the Ground Test requirements Test Preparation/Programming, Test Management and Test Execution/Monitoring. It is already in service for the short- and medium-haul Airbus A320 and long-haul A340 aircraft.
This contract is another step in EADS TEST & SERVICES’ contribution to the development of the A380 aircraft the company has already delivered Software and Hardware Integration Test Benches to Airbus for integrating A380 equipment as well as test systems and test programs to the main OEMs supplying the A380 program.
