EADS EFW receives Extension of Design Organisation Approval from LBA/JAA

At ILA Airshow in Berlin, EADS EFW has received a further extension of the approval as design organisation from German Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) and European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA).
The approval was issued according JAR21 Subpart JA which enables EFW to design and to certify aircraft modifications as well as to obtain Supplemental Type Certificates for major modifications. These design works comprise modifications of cockpit, cabin interiors and cargo compartments on narrowbody, widebody and long-range Airbus aircraft, including A380.
Within EADS, EFW (Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH) is the responsible partner for the conversion of Airbus passenger aircraft into freighters and the associated maintenance. EFW is also the centre of excellence for the manufacture of fibre-reinforced sandwich components for interior furnishings of the entire Airbus family.
