EADS North America has announced the appointment of Norbert H. Fortier (Lt. Col., U.S. Army, Ret.) as Director of U.S. Army Transport Aircraft Programs for EADS CASA North America. Colonel Fortier’s responsibilities will include supporting EADS CASA North America’s offer of the C-295 and CN-235 military airlifters for the increasingly important intra-theater lift missions of the U.S. Army in North America and abroad.

Prior to joining EADS, Fortier spent 20 years with the U.S. Army. He completed his career as the Rotary Wing Branch Chief for the Maritime and Rotary Wing Program Executive Office of the U.S. Special Operations Command. He also has served as program integrator for the Defense Contract Management Agency, Assistant Project Manager for special mission aircraft in the U.S. Army’s Aviation Applied Technology Directorate, and Chief of Flight Test Operations and experimental test pilot for the U.S. Army Airworthiness Qualification Test Directorate.

“Bert Fortier is a valuable addition to our EADS CASA North America team,” said Ralph D. Crosby, Jr., Chairman and CEO, EADS North America, and member of the EADS Executive Committee.   “His background in operations, program management and flight test make him highly knowledgeable of U.S. Army operations, and for EADS a valuable resource in support of current and future U.S. Army programs.”

EADS CASA North America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EADS North America and the representative in North America of EADS Military Transport Aircraft Division, which designs, manufactures and commercializes a family of light and medium transport aircraft.   The company’s C-295 and CN-235 are candidates for the U.S. Army’s future intra-theater airlift requirements, and a recent five-week “All American tour” demonstrated the C-295’s capabilities to Army and Army National Guard units across the country.
