Eurocopter displays an EC120 B Colibri at the Grand Palais for the "Fête des Transports"

As the world's leading helicopter manufacturer, Eurocopter is proud to participate in the "Fête des transports" by putting an EC120 B Colibri on display at the Grand Palais in Paris. The show is organized under the patronage of the French Presidency and the French Ministries of Transport and Defense.

Marignane, 04  November  2005

The helicopter perfectly mirrors the show's leitmotif: "A Passion for Transport". This theme conveys a series of ideals associating dreams, technology, relief aid, and many other values.

The exhibited EC120 B Colibri represents the epitome of technology. The extensive use of composites, a Spheriflex main rotor, and a Fenestron® tail rotor make the helicopter very environment-friendly and the quietest in its category.

Equipped with the latest life-support equipment, the Colibri is a bona fide flying ambulance. In the ever-worsening urban traffic, where time is of the essence, the helicopter is saving an increasing number of lives of casualties and premature babies. It can also carry life-saving organs.

The helicopter took part in the relief effort in December 2004, in the wake of the tsunami and, more recently, following the earthquake disaster in Pakistan. On both occasions, the helicopter demonstrated its impressive capability to ferry aid to populations in distress.

Eurocopter develops, produces, markets and supports the world's largest range of helicopters: starting with single-engine light models, then light and medium twins, up to the 11-ton heavy transport helicopter. This product line covers close to 90% of the market's needs.

Since Eurocopter was founded in 1992, 10 new types of helicopters have come to life in the company's design office. This is why the company is now the world's No. 1 helicopter manufacturer.

Eurocopter is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EADS. EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services. In 2004, EADS generated revenues of € 31.8 billion and employed a workforce of about 110,000. The EADS Group includes the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the world's largest helicopter supplier Eurocopter and the joint venture MBDA, the international leader in missile systems. EADS is the major partner in the Eurofighter consortium, is the prime contractor for the Ariane launcher, develops the A400M military transport aircraft and is the largest industrial partner for the European satellite navigation system Galileo.
