A310 MRTT (Multi Role Tanker Transport) - The Military Transport Aircraft Division is also responsible for programs such as the conversions of the A310-300 and A330-200 platforms into 2 or 3 points tanker versions for refuelling by means of the hose-and-drogue and/or boom system. An advanced state-of-the-art fly-by-wire boom has been developed and a hose drum refuelling unit (HDU) is also available for the fuselage. Military avionics can be customised to client needs.
A310-300: - In-flight refuelling, equipped with two refuelling pods under the wings and/or boom - Capable of operation with two pilots and an air-to-air refuelling operator/load master - Combi/cargo/passenger configuration and medical evacuation.
A330-200 MRTT RAF The MRTT is a Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft based on the A330-200 Airbus platform. The A330-200 MRTT is the big twin aircraft of the Airbus fly-by-wire family. The huge basic fuel capacity of the standard A330-200 means that no additional tanks are needed to give air-to-air refueling performance that far exceeds its nearest competitors. The entire cargo bay is then available for all other types of transportation because it possesses full flexibility in cargo delivery, passenger transport, aeromedical evacuation, troop s transportation and other missions. The A330 MRTT can be provided with a combination of wing pod and/or fuselage hose and drogue units and/or the EADS CASA advanced refueling boom system (ARBS). A boom operator and mission planning station can be located in the cockpit and includes remote controls with an enhanced 2D/3D vision system. The A330 MRTT has a full capability of 111 tones with a speed range of 180-325 KIAS and a refueling envelope of a 0-35 000 ft. In particular, the A330 MRTT has been selected as the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft for the UK Royal Air Force, and for the Royal Australian Air Force, Saudi-Arabia Air Force, UAE Air Force and US Air Force.
A330 MRTT RAAF The MRTT is a Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft based on the A330-200 Airbus platform. The A330 MRTT RAAF is the same as KC45 who provide from Northrop as an answer for the U.S. Air Force s modernization of its aerial refueling fleet. Air refueling Boom System EADS CASA's A310 Boom Demonstrator Aircraft has done, on January 30, 2007, its 12th test flight and the boom has been successfully deployed for the first time. The A330 MRTT (Multi Role Transport Tanker), is an aircraft with a maximum fuel capacity of 140,000 litres which also retains its full passenger capacity thereby retaining the dual use capability of the aircraft. The in-flight transfer of fuel can either be carried out either by hose-and-drogue systems or by boom system. The entirely new ARBS (Air Refuelling Boom System) is a system with an advanced air refuelling boom main structure, fly-by-wire control with a larger refuelling envelope and controllability, including an automatic load alleviation system. The maximum nominal fuel flow is 1200 US gal./min. In addition to the fuel transfer, it covers the control and command systems installed in the rear part of the aircraft and communicates with the entire avionics and communication system of the aircraft. Purchasers of the MRTT Boom are the UK Royal Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force, Saudi Arabia Air Force, UAE Air Force and US Air Force.
