EADS and the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) based in Seattle, USA, signed an agreement that will allow EADS to leverage INCOSE’s Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) programme. Through the terms of this agreement, EADS and INCOSE will collaborate in the granting of the status of CSEP to appropriately experienced EADS systems engineers. EADS considers systems engineering an important strategic competence and an enabler to successfully master the increased complexities faced over its entire product lifecycles.
INCOSE is a not-for-profit professional organization with a strong basis in the United States, but serving about 7000 members in over 22 countries. INCOSE’s mission is to advance the state of the art and practice of systems engineering in industry, academia, and government by promoting interdisciplinary, scaleable approaches to produce appropriate solutions that meet societal needs.
EADS Chief Technical Officer (CTO) Jean Botti said: “In becoming the first company to enter a certification agreement with INCOSE, we will continue to be a leader in systems engineering. EADS expects to realize both internal and external benefits through this partnership."
"INCOSE is delighted to enter this agreement with EADS to advance the practice of systems engineering and to strengthen our certification program in Europe. INCOSE’s CSEP designation is the worldwide reference for systems engineering certification." said Pat Hale, President of INCOSE.
This agreement was signed at “Systems Engineering for the Planet”, the 18th Annual INCOSE International Symposium held in Utrecht, at which EADS CTO Jean Botti delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Aerospace and the Environment – A Global Systems Innovation Challenge.”
