The EADS Test & Services’ site of Colomiers, near Toulouse, has just been just awarded ISO 14001 certification; this subsidiary of the EADS Defence & Security Division, specialised in the on-board electronics and military systems testing, is the first entity of the Division to be awarded this certification.
As soon as mid-2005, in order to comply with:
EADS Test & Services has committed itself into an environmental process, in the same way as Airbus and Astrium in the Toulouse area.
Supported by the « Agence Régionale Pour l’Environnement (ARPE : Regional Agency for the Environment)» and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry network, supervised by ADEME (Departmental Agency for Environment and Energy control) and UIMM (Metallurgy industries and trade unions), the project was implemented in three steps:
Thanks to the will of its Management team and the implication of all its employees, EADS Test & Services successfully completed the ISO 14001 certification project.
The ISO 14001 norm imposes constraints in the production and manufacturing processes (limited use of chemical products for instance), in waste management, water, air and soil respect, noise reduction and integration of the Company’s site in the local scenery.

First entity of EADS Defence & Security to receive ISO 14001 certification, EADS Test & Services will be able to support the other French units of the Division, gathered in Elancourt in the Paris Area, to be awarded such certification.
EADS Test & Services also participate in intra-EADS working groups in order to help other French sites in their environmental approach.
