Riding on a continuing upswing of international sales, the EADS Socata TBM 850 Very Fast Turboprop aircraft is being brought to the National Business Aviation Association’s 61st Annual Meeting & Convention, which will be held October 6-8 in Orlando, Florida.

The TBM 850 to be displayed at NBAA 2008 is the latest model, equipped with the G1000 all-glass integrated flight deck, a new cabin interior and the new global air system for pressurization and air conditioning control.

“The NBAA’s annual gathering already is the world’s largest purely business aviation trade show with more than 30,000 attendees expected,” said Jean-Michel Léonard, Chairman and CEO of EADS Socata. “Among them will be business and corporate operators who made the current success of the TBM 850.”

“In 2008, we sold several TBM 850 to already jet operators that were looking to reduce their cost of transportation.“ explained Nicolas Chabbert, President of EADS Socata North America. “In the current depressed economy, the eco-efficient TBM 850 is the right answer to these prospective buyers looking for business transportation with no compromise in safety and dependability.”

The TBM 850 is world’s fastest single turboprop aircraft, with a maximum cruising speed of 320 KTAS at Flight Level 260 (in ISA conditions). It combines cruising speed and trip times of a light jet with the economic direct operating costs, range and moderate environmental signature of a turboprop engine. The maximum range and useful load – which are enhanced on the new model – and the ability to land at small airports are some of its customers’ favorite features.
