All three members of the Super Puma Family - AS332L1, AS332L2 and EC225 - are twin engine medium-weight civil helicopters which are suited for offshore or other civil operations as well as para-public uses. Their operational characteristics and large cabins explain their success particularly for passenger transport. The EC225, being the latest member of the Super Puma Family in the category of the 11 tonnes helicopters, positions itself as the reference helicopter on the offshore market in terms of reliability, operational availability, and crucial performance parameters, such as high cruising speed, range and payload. It is a long-range helicopter and is - just like the whole Super Puma Family - suited for passenger transport.
