AMF - Autorité des marchés financiers

The AMF (Financial Market Authority) is an independent French State body which was created in August 2003, from the merger of the Commission des opérations de bourse (COB), the Conseil des marchés financiers (CMF) and the Conseil de discipline de la gestion financière (CDGF). It is charged, in France, with protecting investors, ensuring that operations are fair, and that information provided by issuers is also reliable. It also regualtes investment markets.
