PLANCK

Under contract to ESA and the Danish Space Research Institute, EADS Astrium has now produced the first two full-scale reflectors for ESA's Planck telescope, the primary and secondary reflector qualification models. Both reflectors are of ellipsoidal in shape with main axis dimensions of 1555 mm x 1887 mm (primary) and 1051 mm x 1104 mm (secondary). They feature an all-carbon fiber reinforced plastic lightweight 'sandwich' design.
