EBIT - EADS uses EBIT pre-goodwill amortization and exceptionals as a key indicator of its economic performance. The term “exceptionals” refers to income or expenses of a non-recurring nature, such as amortization expenses of fair value adjustments relating to the EADS merger and impairment losses. It does not correspond to the definition of extraordinary items under IFRS.

As of 2009, the composition of Other Businesses differs compared to 2008. Since EADS is holding only a minority stake in DAHER Socata, this unit is consolidated at equity within EADS accounts. Also as of 2009, EADS EFW is consolidated within Airbus accounts. Therefore, Other Businesses now contains ATR, EADS Sogerma and EADS North America and 30 percent of Socata S.A.S. at equity. Other Businesses is not a stand-alone EADS Division. Other Businesses 2008 accounts have been adjusted by the transfer of EADS EFW to Airbus division.
