EADS Stand at Dubai Airshow 2011
Originally an aerospace tradeshow for Arab Air, this year the biennial Dubai Airshow is into its 12th edition from November 13-17 celebrating the 40th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates. In five short days, one of the world’s fastest growing airshow welcomed 960 exhibitors, 56,548 visitors, 125 aircraft. Over 60 types were put through their paces in daily demonstrations while the latest in satellite and defence technology will be on display.
EADS’ presence has been highlighted by the Airbus aircraft displays as the A330 passenger plane but also the ACJ318, ACJ320 corporate jets and the A330 freighter. Eurocopter had the chance to introduce the EC145 T2 model. The display on the tarmac was complemented by the EADS stand that highlighted future technology concepts from all Divisions. Cutaway models of the A350XWB and the A400M allowed visitors to better understand their complexity and significance while a model of the upcoming A320neo gives insight into the next generation of Airbus’ most successful airplane family. The wide range of Eurocopter models, Astrium products and Cassidian TouchLab attracted as well many visitors.
EADS has a number of representative offices in the Middle East region. The founding companies of EADS have had a presence in the Gulf region since the 1970s. EADS has been a long-standing partner of the Gulf Cooperation Council States, including the UAE, and plans to develop its partnership policy further for future programmes.
