Highlights at ILA BERLIN Air Show 2012
EADS and its Divisions – Airbus, Astrium, Cassidian and Eurocopter –presented a broad selection of cutting-edge products, technologies and services at the ILA Berlin Air Show, which took place 11-16 September 2012.
Under the motto ‘The Future, by EADS’ the Group highlighted its extensive capabilities to meet the future requirements of the aerospace and defence industry. Airbus, its subsidiary Airbus Military, the Airbus Corporate Foundation and some of it’s partners staged a special exhibition on ‘Humanitarian Support’ to highlight products and services for humanitarian missions, including the A400M, a mobile hospital, an EC135 helicopter in disaster control configuration and a Geo-Service information system.
Besides showcasing its products, the Group also focused on the aerospace industry’s power to inspire. The EADS German Skydiving team and dozens of engineers participated in the EADS Students Day, where these experts were able to share their enthusiasm with more than 150 interested students. EADS invited a total of nine classes from Berlin and Brandenburg to delve into the world of flight for a day. During this time, students were given the opportunity to voice their questions on aerospace and some of them were even able to test the feeling of weightlessness on their own bodies in a 'bodyflying' facility.
In total, EADS invited professionals, students and graduates to 27 different workshops at the ILA Air Show in Berlin, including the Femtec network’s annual summer ceremony, whose guests were 250 female engineering students from Germany’s most renowned universities.
