EADS’ research leads to viable solutions, harnesses creative thinking and explores new ideas in addressing solutions to real-world problems. Within EADS Innovation Works’ research and technology centres around the world, the Group’s brightest minds collaborate with the most forward thinkers in universities, research institutes and government bodies to develop visionary technologies.

The amount EADS has invested in Research and Development since 2000 adds up to more than €28 billion. EADS' portfolio of patented inventions has doubled over the last seven years to more than 9,500 — with over 1,000 new inventions in 2011 alone. This makes the Group a world champion in aerospace and defence innovation.
