EADS is Europe’s premier aerospace and defence company and one of the largest aerospace and defense companies in the world. In terms of market share, the Group is among the top two manufacturers of commercial aircraft, civil helicopters, commercial space launch vehicles and missiles, and a leading supplier of military aircraft, satellites and defence electronics.
In 2011, EADS had consolidated revenues of €49.1 billion, 76% of this total generated approximately in the civil sector and 24% in the defence sector. Since its foundation in 2000, the Group has more than doubled its revenues, and is on the right track to achieving the strategic goal of its roadmap Vision 2020, which targets becoming the worldwide leader in aerospace and defence with revenues of €80 billion by 2020.
Furthermore, the order book of EADS reached €541.0 billion (as of 31 December 2011), and the Group’s net cash position increased to €11.7 billion (as of March 2012.)
