EADS Innovation Works

EADS is a leading global aerospace and defence company, whose business depends heavily on the development and integration of state-of-the-art technologies in its products to provide the necessary competitive edge in its markets.

A global network of Technical Capability Centres, collectively known as EADS Innovation Works, is operating the corporate Research and Technology (R&T) laboratories that guarantee the company’s technical innovation potential with a focus on the long-term. The structure of the network is consistent with the EADS R&T strategy and covers the skills and technology fields that are of critical importance to EADS.

The teams within EADS Innovation Works are therefore organised into seven transnational Technical Capability Centres:

  • Composites Technologies
  • Metallic Technologies & Surface Engineering
  • Structures Engineering, Production & Aeromechanics
  • Engineering, Physics, IT, Security Services & Simulation
  • Sensors, Electronics & Systems Integration
  • Energy & Propulsion
  • Innovative Concepts & Scenarios

Supporting all the EADS Business Units, they have the mission to identify new value-creating technologies and to develop technological skills and resources.

EADS Innovation Works fosters technological excellence and business orientation through the sharing of competences and means between the various partners of the EADS Group and develops and maintains partnerships with world-famous schools, universities and research centres.

EADS Innovation Works has two main sites in Paris/Suresnes and Munich/Ottobrunn and employs approximately 600 people including doctorates and undergraduate interns. Proximity centres are maintained in Toulouse, Nantes, Hamburg, Bremen and Stade to support knowledge transfer to Business Units in these locations. EADS Innovation Works operates centres in Singapore, and Newport and Filton in the UK, and has also launched a centre in Getafe/Madrid, Spain and most recently, in Bangalore, India. A liaison office operates in Moscow, Russia, which facilitates relations with this country's scientific institutes.
