Special Prize: Best Teams

Get to know the EADS Hall of Fame Great Best Lean Manufacturing and Systems Engineering Teams, who are recognized for their achievements in complex projects.

Astrium’s team working in the M51 programme – the development of the strategic French missile to be carried by submarines – received the EADS Hall of Fame Special Prize for the Best Systems Engineering Team. This award recognizes the teams that have worked intelligently together to apply systems engineering principles that led to on-time, on-quality and on-cost project completion and contributed to overall business performance.

When it comes to systems improvements and on-time, on-quality and on-budget deliveries, the Astrium M51 team represents one of EADS’ top-notch examples. The development of the M51 was performed over 10 years for customer. The system was delivered to the French Navy on time by the end of 2010, as foreseen in the contract. “We greatly welcome this award, especially as our programme is classified and communications are extremely restricted”, says team member Eric Brousse.
