EADS and its four Divisions – Airbus, Astrium, Cassidian and Eurocopter – had a major presence at the 2011 Paris Air Show at Le Bourget with a wide array of products, services and technologies on display to demonstrate the unrivalled capabilities of the Group. From the EADS stand to the static and flying displays, more than 1,000 visitors over the course of the week were able to see how the company is preparing to meet future industry and customer requirements.

Attracting Talented Individuals
At the show EADS invited young talents and experienced professionals to meet top executives, engineers and HR representatives in order to discuss the latest technical projects and developments as well as the range of career opportunities on offer.
Showcasing the Latest Innovations
The company’s continual search for innovation was showcased at the event through a number of cutting-edge technologies. The Group presented its eCO2avia activities to demonstrate the feasibility of using biofuels and electric power for aviation. Each Division also highlighted its flagship projects. These included Airbus’ vision of the aircraft of 2050, Astrium’s concept for a geostationary optical surveillance satellite, Eurocopter’s X3 hybrid helicopter, and Cassidian’s capabilities in lead system integration demonstrated by the TouchLab.
Offering Career Workshops
EADS presented a varied programme of workshops throughout the show that covered a wide range of topics from the implementation of lean principles within Airbus and the complexity of the engineering lifecycle of fighter aircraft, to how EADS has turned to the video game industry to improve design as well as living and working in the Middle East. With EADS committed to equal opportunities, one day of workshops was devoted to gender diversity while another focused on international and cultural diversity.
