What we offer

Working for EADS opens up a world of opportunities in terms of how and where you develop your skills and pursue your career. As an award-winning and industry-recognised employer, EADS believes in supporting the well-being and engagement of its people.

Work-life balance

At EADS, we believe that a positive working environment is built on a healthy work-life balance for all employees. We have developed a number of dedicated schemes and programmes to support this balance including flexible working arrangements and childcare support. We actively encourage employees to pursue their sporting, musical and artistic interests. And to give our staff the opportunity to share their work experiences with family and friends, we regularly organise Family Days at our sites. Highlights of our schemes (these may vary from site to site) include:

• Flexible working models
• Sports facilities and incentives
• On-site concierge service
• Hobby clubs
• Social events, clubs and networks
• Childcare support, such as on-site daycare facilities
• Holiday programmes for children

Internationality and mobility

EADS and its four Divisions – Airbus, Astrium, Cassidian and Eurocopter – operate in 48 countries and employ more than 140,000 professionals across a vast range of engineering and business disciplines. All of which means there are lots of opportunities for moving to another part of the business, another function or another country.

As an international and highly diverse company, we actively encourage mobility through a wide choice of personalised options, from short-term project work to longer-term assignments that could be anywhere in the world. We support our employees’ discovery of EADS’ various Divisions and areas of activity throughout their careers. Not only does it help them develop and gain new skills and experience, it also enriches us by bringing in new ways of thinking, working and sharing best practices across the Group.

Learning and development

With many employees spending significant periods of their working lives at EADS, it is both in the interests of the Group and a duty to our employees to help them develop. To improve career development opportunities, we are in the process of widening the scope and reach of our training programmes. Several common training programmes have been created for use across EADS Divisions, to pool resources and ensure that the best technical expertise is shared across the Group.

We highly value our technical expertise and this is why we have set up an Expert career path. It allows our Experts to develop a deep technical understanding within a strategic area. As an EADS Expert, you will contribute to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence within your field and to passing this on throughout EADS.

EADS is also focusing its attention on excellence in project management, which is key to on-time, on-quality delivery, customer satisfaction and increased profitability. Through a defined career path in this field, you can acquire the skills of a successful project manager.

We also run a number of different programmes and events to develop our future managers, senior managers and executives. These focus on the development of leadership skills, tailored to the individual, and often bring an international aspect into the training.
