MISTRAL ATAM on Tiger

The MISTRAL ATAM is a air-to-air system for helicopters based on the MISTRAL 2 missile. The Mistral is a Fire and Forget air defence missile designed for all services, capable of engaging rapidly crossing or maneuvering targets up to distances of 6.5 km. The system can be easily integrated on any type of helicopter, be they attack, liaison or transport helicopters. It provides these helicopters with a self-defence capability, and it also allows them to carry out escort missions for other helicopters, as part of air mobile forces, land convoys over long distances, and long-range fast projection of air defence resources.
