EADS has established a long-term basis for its cooperation with PATEV, the Karlsruhe, Germany-based company that is a European leader for intellectual property management services.

The long-term agreement assigns active implementation of EADS’ Technology Licensing initiative to PATEV, with tasks that include the structuring of technology portfolios, contacts and demand analysis for interested parties, and support when concluding license contracts.

"We consider this continuity of our cooperation to be a significant acknowledgment of our previous performance, and also an excellent possibility to integrate our competence in patent and technology transfer," said PATEV CEO Dr. Edelbert Häfele.

Wulf Höflich, the Chief Intellectual Property Officer at EADS, who is responsible for patent activities throughout the group, said: “The mission of the EADS technology licensing program is to make state-of-the-art technology available to EADS suppliers and outside companies looking to leverage specific EADS intellectual property.

“We are pleased to continue our work with PATEV, which supports the EADS licensing program and has made positive contributions to our licensing efforts,” Höflich added.

Founded in 2001, PATEV has made a decisive contribution to the further development of the rating and commercialization of property rights in companies as a contribution toward added value. PATEV also offers associated services for analysis and creation of effective property rights positions (patent engineering) and for transfer of the property rights. PATEV customers include medium-sized technology companies as well as large DAX 30 companies, banks and insurance companies.
