Eurocopter registers 114 Orders at Paris Air Show, confirming its international Market Success

Marignane - Eurocopter logged record bookings for a total of 114 helicopters at this year’s Paris Air Show. The combined value of the contracts signed at the show amounts to over € 1.2 billion. The spectrum of customers placing new orders in Paris ranged from governments booking for military aircraft, to commercial operators in the oil and gas industry, in emergency medical services, training, VIP/corporate as well as utility and tourist missions, and covered almost the entire product line of Eurocopter. With the remarkable sales success achieved at the show, Eurocopter aims at achieving around 700 bookings by year-end.

Arianespace orders 35 more Ariane 5 launchers from Astrium

Le Bourget - Today at the Paris Air Show, Jean-Yves Le Gall, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arianespace, and François Auque, Chairman of Astrium, signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the production of 35 Ariane 5 launchers, in addition to the batch of 30 Ariane 5 launchers ordered in 2004. The signing ceremony was attended by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, along with Jean-Jacques Dordain, Director General of the European Space Agency and Yannick d’Escatha, President of French CNES space agency.

Real-time LOLA demonstrations on the French Defence Procurement Agency stand at Le Bourget

Le Bourget - Real-time laser optical links are being demonstrated live at the Paris Le Bourget airshow on the Délégation Générale pour l’Armement (DGA) stand. The link, via an airborne Mystère 20 aircraft in the south of France and a geostationary satellite, is making it possible to achieve two-way communication between Le Bourget and the aircraft. The team on the DGA stand is in permanent contact with the flight crew. Exceptionally clear footage of the cabin and countryside below is being shown on screens on the stand, proving the operational performance of this kind of laser optical link. These demonstrations are subsequent to a flight test campaign and a real-time demonstration which was successfully performed in front of French Army representatives on 30 May 2007 in Toulouse.

Germany orders additional 42 NH90s at Paris Air Show by exercising its Options

Le Bourget, PARIS AIR SHOW 2007 - On the occasion of the Paris Air Show, Germany signed a contract for 42 additional NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (TTH) on June 18 at the Cercle Militaire Saint- Augustin in Paris. Thirty of these helicopters are destined for the Army Air Corps, the other twelve are for the Air Force. Germany has thereby exercised part of its existing options for the NH90 TTH. In June 2000, the German Armed Forces had placed a firm order for 80 TTH – 50 for the Army Air Corps and 30 for the Air Force.
