Socata has organized with AOPA Pilot magazine a Paint Scheme Contest from March 1st through May 15th, 2000.
With its "Night & Day" Dr. Scott W. Dorsey is the winner of the 1st Prize. he was one of the most creative competitors with 8 colourful entries entries including a psychedelic "Hippie love" design. "Night & day" offers the combination of creativeness and applicability our jury was seeking. Dr Scott W. Dorsey, born in February 1961, is the Director of Choral Activities at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio and the Music Director and Conductor of the Alliance Symphony Orchestra. Ensembles under his direction have been honored with invitations to appear at the American Theatre Festival, before the Congress of the United States, and most recently in Cleveland's famed Severance Hall. An active writer on matters pertaining to music, he has published two books and over fifty articles in professional academic and music journals Beyond his extensive musical involvements, Dorsey is also an active aviator. An instrument-rated commercial pilot, he has published articles on various aviation topics for Private Pilot and Plane & Pilot magazines.
Scott Dorsey holds degrees from Nebraska Wesleyan University (B.A.), California State University (M.A.) and the University of Iowa (D.M.A.). Scott and his wife, Dawn, reside in Alliance, Ohio.
