Advanced Anti-Armour Weapon Brimstone
BRIMSTONE is a flexible, highly accurate fast jet launched weapon, designed to meet the threat posed by modern armour both today and in the future and in a wide range of battlefield scenarios.

In November 1996 the UK MoD awarded MBDA the development and production contract for Brimstone. In October 2003, a successful series of test firings were carried out as part of the final stages of Brimstone's development phase. During one of these tests, a ripple test firing, three missiles successfully impacted on three different targets with an array of armoured vehicles.
BRIMSTONE is scheduled to go into service on RAF Tornados during the course of 2004.

Magnetic signature duplicator Dedale
DEDALE uses current and next generation magnetic signature duplicator technology and activate any magnetically fuzed anti-tank mine.
DEDALE activates mines by transmitting a decoy magnetic signature in front of the mine-clearing vehicle.

Decoy magnetic signatures are pre-programmed during Mission Planning so that all magnetic mines can be safely destroyed.

DEDALE is the only programmable countermine system available. The system is being produced in partnership with GIAT and Pearson Engineering Ltd. It will enter service with the French Army and is available "of the shell" to other customers.

Infantry missile Eryx for short-range combat.
ERYX is the first third generation infantry missile available on the market. It is the infantry platoon's main weapon for urban combat and can be fired from confined or enclosed spaces.
ERYX is a wire-guided weapon, for multi-target fire support by point blank firing, and is effective against tanks and all fortified positions over the whole of its range. It is ideal for rapid intervention forces, special forces or commandos due to the fact that it is compact, simple to operate, discreet and provides high firepower.

ERYX has been in service since 1993. More than 52,000 ammunition have been ordered to date. Customers include Canada, Brazil, France, Malaysia and Norway.

ERYX is a real general-purpose weapon system, with its own maintenance and training equipment.

Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System
· Area saturation weapon system
· Able to fire 12 rockets in less than one minute
· Range : in excess of 60 km
· GMLRS is a co-development, funded equally by the USA and four European countries (France, Germany, Italy and the UK). MBDA is supplying sub-assemblies including the rocket motor, for the European off-take
· In production in the USA - approximately 17,000 GMLRS rockets will be produced for European requirements
· In 2005 extended range technology (100 km +) was successfully proved in a test firing of GMLRS-ER
· MBDA is also proposing a laser-guided version for improved accuracy 308 kg

Infantry weapon for medium engagement
MILAN ADT-ER is the latest generation of the anti-tank guided weapon system MILAN. The new firing post MILAN ADT (Advanced Technology), in combination with the new missile MILAN ER (Extended Response), provides a recognition range of more than 4,500 m. This enables infantry and armoured infantry to operate successfully in various and changing scenarios.

Due to new mission profiles, in recent years military requirements have changed significantly. Whereas during the Cold War the main requirement for ATGW was penetration through armoured steel, e.g. the main battle tank, today’s requirements are more and more driven by military operations in urban terrain (MOUT). Particularly-, during engagements in such MOUT scenarios, it is becoming more and more important to minimize collateral damage.

The ability to abort a mission at any time, to engage various types of targets (even targets with no IR- signature), and the capability to identify the target before engagement are consequently essential requirements for modern ATGW.

Air-to-air combat for helicopters based on the MISTRAL 2 missile.
Atam uses exactly the same Mistral ammunition as the ground-based or naval launching units (Manpads, Atlas, Albi, Simbad, Sadral and Tetral).

The Atam system is comprised of two launching ramps with two missiles each, i.e. four ready-to-fire missiles. It is capable of intercepting helicopters as well as fighter aircraft and can be fired from altitudes of up to 15,000 ft and at speeds of up to 200 knots.

Very simple to use (Fire and Forget missile), easy to maintain the system can be operated in the whole flight envelope of the carrier helicopter.

MISTRAL ATAM is currently the only helicopter mounted air-to-air missile in full operational service. The system is operated by the French Army Aviation on the Gazelle and is also qualified on the Tigre attack helicopter.

ATAM uses the MISTRAL air defence missile, which is operational with 37 armed forces in 25 countries.

Precision Fire-and-Forget Weapon System With Multirole Capability
PARS 3 LR is a high-precision fire-and-forget weapon system for engaging mobile and stationary targets equipped with the latest generation of armour protection, field fortresses, bunkers and other high-value targets.

The trailblazing technology of PARS 3 LR enables the platform to leave its position immediately after firing the missile (fire-and-forget capability). In this way, both platform and crew are exposed to the enemy's reconnaissance and possible counter-action for only a minimal length of time. Equally, the precision and effectiveness of the missile fired remain the same over the entire range spectrum.

Thanks to its tandem shaped-charge warhead and the IR- seeker, PARS 3 LR can engage infrastructure targets just as successfully.

Countermine route clearance system Souvim 2
SOUVIM 2 is a countermine system based on a combination of mine decoying subsystems. It is able to clear 150 km of route in one day. It is particularly suitable for main supply route clearance.

SOUVIM 2 is composed of two vehicles and three trailers. The first vehicle (VDM) carries the stand-off mine decoy support frame including DEDALE magnetic decoy antennas. The VDM is immune to pressure mines because of its specially designed low pressure tyres which will not detonate any mine. It tows a weighted trailer (RDM 1), which detonates mines and secures and marks a track for the second vehicle.

The second vehicle (VTR) follows the lane secured and marked by the VDM, and tows two additional trailers (RDM 2 & 3), which detonate pressure mines deployed on the track up to a width of 3.9 m.
