AEROFLEX and EADS TEST & SERVICES sign Memorandum of Understanding to co-develop Radio Frequency testing capability on ATEC Series 6

Toulouse, 13 April 2008

Just before the opening of the 2008 Avionics Maintenance Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA), AEROFLEX and EADS TEST & SERVICES signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the joint development and marketing of Radio Frequency testing capability for EADS’ ATE systems, including the ATEC Series 6 automatic tester. This new capability will be developed initially for the test of B787 and A350 RF equipment. A new bay will be added to the ATEC Series 6 and equipment-specific Test Program Sets will be developed in due time to meet the needs of B787 and A350 aircraft operators.

The ATEC Series 6 of EADS TEST & SERVICES is widely used around the world by airlines and MRO companies as well as by OEMs for production and maintenance avionics testing. This universal ATE has proved to be an efficient and cost-saving in-house test solution for both aircraft operators and equipment manufacturers; now with this additional capability, it becomes even more universal, therefore even more economic.

The addition of AEROFLEX RF instruments and system solutions, already widely utilized in the aerospace, communications and wireless industries, will take the ATEC Series 6 to a new level of comprehensive test.

As part of the MOU, the two companies have further agreed to explore ways to increase their common test solution offerings to the aviation industry.
